AVON’s Legacy of Success
Back in 1886, a guy named David McConnell was having a tough time selling books door-to-door in New York. So, he switched things up and started selling perfumes instead. This was the start of The California Perfume Company, which later became AVON.
The business did really well, and McConnell hired his first boss lady, Mrs. Albee. She played a big role in creating the special way AVON sells products, which is still a big part of the company today. And get this – this was all happening before women could even vote!
